GEDCOM/PAF Info Page

PAF (Personal Ancestral File) is a program that makes genealogy easy to do. It allows the user to input family names, dates, etc, and then link them. It automatically creates pedigree charts, Family Record forms, etc, and is capable of printing various forms. PAF uses a format called GEDCOM to allow the exchange of information between people. I have done research on over 1,000 names, all of which are available for download.

There is other software available which is GEDCOM compatible. Another widely used one is Ancestral Quest. I have not used it personally, but it is supposed to be quite like PAF, except that it is a Windows based program (GUI).

For a list of the names that I have available, click here.

If you do not have a program that is compatable with GEDCOM, you will not be able to read my family files. Following is a list of Web sites where more information concerning PAF and Ancestral Quest can be obtained.
