BENTON COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

The Benton County Moderate Risk Waste Facility is located off SR240 (Vantage Highway) on Twin Bridges Road (formerly Grosscup Road) at the Richland Landfill. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Household hazardous waste is accepted free of charge from all Benton County residents. Common examples of waste received include paints, polishes, cleaning products, thinners, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, household batteries, aerosols, used motor oil, antifreeze, drain openers, car batteries, brake fluid, gasoline, car wax, transmission fluids and any product with a caution and warning label. The facility does not accept explosives, radioactive waste, or biomedical waste. This permanent drop-off facility provides centralized disposal opportunities for proper management of these wastes and helps reduce contamination of soils, surface water, groundwater, and minimizes potential environmental and public health threats.

Materials should be brought to the facility in their original container. If the container is cracked, or leaking please place the material into another container and identify its contents. If the waste is not in its original container, label the container clearly with the chemical contents, or bring the original container with you if possible or identify what the product was used for in its application.
