What is the reliability of the paging service?
The reliability of our services is only as good as your
alpha-numeric paging service. We have found most of the
major carriers return busy signals for prolonged periods of
time during peak demand. Most pages do go through but we do
not believe alpha-numeric paging to be used in mission
critical situations. If your services is busy for more than
20 minutes your page may not go through.
My alpha-numeric pager comes with an Email address -
why should I use your service?
It is true that many alpha-numeric paging services include
an Email address - usually a numeric address like
1234567@mobile.att.net. While this can work for many
situations, these messages are not attached to a real Email
account where the full message content can be stored until
retrieved by you. Our routing services allow you to only
route messages to your pager that contain a specific keyword
(such as urgent) or just route email from certain sources.
In addition we offer a non-numeric address (such as
joespager@owt.com) that will go to your pager only.
How long can my pager messages be?
This is a function of your alpha-numeric pager. Most PCS
phones support 128 to 150 characters and the most advanced
pagers typically support up to 250 characters. Included in
this content will be the date, subject and the sender name
or Email address (this is part of our configuration where
you can control the length of the subject and from fields).
