AGLE Time S3 S/N 179

DIFFERENCE OPERATING MODE,  Elapse time after initial synchronization is recorded.   Timer A is start timer, Timer B is finish timer.

If this unit is going to be used with other timing devices, it is desirable to have all of the timers reading recording the same time for the same stop or finish.  This time can be just the elapsed time since zero hours when they were all synchronized or it could be the clock time of day.

Setting Timer to Sync (start running) at a specific time of day

Rotate the front panel switch to diff.  Set the hours of the time of day with the red "start-stop" button and the minutes with the yellow "next" button to the time of day you will sync.  The synchronous start is triggered by pressing down the toggle switch so both the Timer A (start) and Timer B (stop) will start running.  Thereafter the read and yellow buttons function normally again as labeled.  If you need to reset the time, the unit has to be turned off and on again.

Timer A runs the starting time and Timer B runs the finish time.   It is not required to be viewing the Timer A or Timer B for it to capture the time in memory.  Both clocks store up to 12 hits.  For the printer to print the next time (and clear the memory slot for that time) the YELLOW NEXT Button is pressed while viewing the time you want to be printed.

When all the times have been retrieved from the memory, the display will show the running time again.

Potential Problems

If the electronic time is not valid, notify the Start and Finish to verify that they have hand times. If they do not have hand times, the racer needs to be immediately informed that they need to rerun.

Static and crackling in the head set is usually caused by a poor electrical connect on the timing wire. Check both at the top and bottom of the race course. This also could be caused by a old 9-volt battery in the starting wand box. Remove four screws to open box and check the battery.

Timer starts when gate is closed, not when gate is opened is caused by an upside down starting gate wand. Place the start wand on the other side of the gate.

FORMS TO RECORD

1. ALGE printer tape is the primary record - if possible hand record the bib number next to the time on the tape once in a while.

2. ELECTRONIC TIME SHEET RECORD SHEET is hand recorded and is a backup that can be passed out of the timing area for review by race officials during the race.

3. DISQUALIFICATION POSTING SHEET is used to log all DNF BIB #'s and DNS BIB #'s during the race.
