Remote Access
(outside the OWT domain)
Certain subscriber utilities (e.g.. system usage, client
support etc.) will not be accessible to users not dialing in
through our modem pool or connected to our frame relay or
ISDN system. If you are not accessing from a owt.com host
address certain web access will be denied.
If you are traveling and using a nationwide service or a
service local to the are you are visiting you may still get
your Email from OWT by configuring your Email software to
read mail from our POP3 server (pop3@owt.com - so you would
enter username@pop3.owt.com). However, if you wish to SEND
Email you will need to use the SMTP server of your remote
ISP. Virtually all ISPs restrict Email sending to their
local customers to restrict spamming.

Email Addresses
Many
users have asked about email addresses - specifically is it
OK to use username@owt.com rather than
username@oneworld.owt.com? Yes it is! However, be careful!
We have not made a big deal out of this to minimize
confusion. You can use username@owt.com as a return address
but you must still use username@pop3.owt.com as
your POP3 address. If this does not make sense to you
just leave your settings alone.
Note
also that mail sent through our system will be represented
as username@oneworld.owt.com regardless of how you set your
sending email address. This is important to understand if
you subscribe to online mailing lists.
